Bit Dropper
DROP THOSE BITS!
Use your game boy as a FINGER DRUMMING INSTRUMENT!
-------------------------------------------
Controls for the web build emulator: arrow keys or WASD are "D-pad", Z or J keys are "A", and X or K keys are "B", Enter is "Start", Shift is "Select". Brackets ([]) change the palette. (works with keyboard, gamepad, or mobile device)
(In the browser click the game window and then press enter)
-------------------------------------------
D-pad, B, A buttons play samples.
Select button moves UI cursor right.
Holding D-pad Left and then pressing Select moves the UI cursor left.
Start button submits the UI cursor's selection.
-------------------------------------------
Use the "Gear" icon for info, then use left and right for more samples.
The "PERC/VOX" icon swaps the Up and Right buttons for vocal stabs.
The "Play/Stop" icon starts and stops the background music.
The "BGM?" icon brings up the 16 track Background Music selection.
The "A, B, C, and D" icon change sample banks for different sounds.
The "Viz" icon brings up the Visualizer Menu. Left and right changes the speed.
-------------------------------------------
The web build sounds bad because of the emulator used, and I'm sorry. Use BGB or Same Boy for best emulator results.
-------------------------------------------
I made all the samples in BFXR, all the art in Aseprite, and did all the programming in GB Studio. Vocals were performed and recorded by me.
ENJOY!

Wild! I had fun jamming with this. The sounds and visualizers work great.
Thanks so much for checking it out! 🎶
I might do another one in the fututre, so if theres anything you would change let me know! 🙏
There is actually a similar sound toy in my other free .gb game called Source Hack. It's slightly hidden within, on the desktop of the first computer you encounter in the game, in case you are interested 😄
